Colours and feelings

We have found this wonderful story that you will surely like. It is based on the book The Color Monster, by Anna Llenas. It tells us about a monster that is feeling bad and confused because it has a great hubbub of colors. That's because he also has a lot of confusion of feelings. We can help him by ordering his colours so he learns to recognize his feelings.
yellow = happiness (felicidad)
blue = sadness (tristeza)
red = anger (enfado)
black = fear (temor)
green = calm (calma)
After putting each feeling in a diferent jar, we can look them more closely.
Happiness shines yellow like the sun. (La felicidad brilla amarilla como el sol)
Sadness is gentle like a blue rainy day.
Anger blazes red like fire. (El enfado arde como el fuego rojo)
Fear is black like the night. (El temor es negro como la noche)
Calm is quiet like the trees. (La calma es tranquila como los árboles)
Watch and read the story carefully several times. It doesn't matter that you don't understand all the words. Anyway, you can check the ones you want in this online dictionary.

Finally, to practice the vocabulary of colours and feelings, do these activities: here, here and here.

Classics to laugh

The most entertaining morning of theatre in the Fogar. The company Face2face delighted us with two plays that adapt two classics of English literature: Frankenstein, a novel written by Mary Shelley and Macbeth, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare.

Brad and Janet's car breaks down on a deserted road in the middle of a storm. There is a light on in the distance. They decide to seek help at the sinister-looking castle on top of the hill. Dr Frankenstein is throwing a wild party to celebrate the birth of his latest creation, and he welcomes the young couple into his dark and mysterious abode. He will help them ... but at a price.
Face 2 Face sets Shakespeare's famous tragedy in a fast-good restaurant, where Macbeth is a conniving kitchen boy. This tragedy adeptly converted into social satire illustrates how the Macbeth couple's amibition and unbridled greed drives them to ruin while the audience cracks up laughing.
Fear, tragedy and lots of laughs for our Primary and Secondary students, that also took part on the scene.

Tarzan was with us!

An aeroplane crashes in the middle of the jungle. The only survivor is a small boy who is adopted by monkeys. The boy grows up to become Tarzan, lord of the apes.
Así comeza Tarzan of the Apes (1912), a novela de aventuras do escritor estadounidense Edgar Rice Burroughs.

It will be fun!
