Talk about yourself (writing)

We are already approaching the end of the academic year. We are going to review a little bit today the most important things of this course. Look at the top picture. That girl, Mary, talk us about herself. You, like her, must use nine sentences:
1. A greeting.
2. Your name.
3. Your age.
4. The month of your birthday.
5. What you have and what you don't have.
6. What you can do and what you cannot do.
7. What you are wearing.
8. Your favorite animal.
9. What you like for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Here you have a PDF worksheet so you can write those sentences and make your own drawing. Remember everything we studied this year and follow the example of Mary's sentences. This will be easier. You can color your picture if you feel like it.

If you can't print the PDF worksheet, you can also do it all on a separate sheet.

Please, at the end, send me your worksheets to fogarnews@gmail.com.

Resumen tareas: «Talk about your self (writing)» (26-5-20)

Today, just dance!

What if we danced a little? It’s not going to be all study, is it?

We suggest you play «Just Dance» with this catchy Black Eyed Peas song. But, attention, the important thing is not to sing the song, but to have a good time dancing, and if it's with the family, much better.

The song is titled «I gotta feeling» (Tengo un sentimiento). If you want you can learn and sing the chorus which is easy!
I gotta feeling (Tengo un sentimiento)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (que esta noche va a ser una buena noche)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (que esta noche va a ser una buena noche)
That tonight's gonna be a good good night (que esta noche va a ser una buena buena noche)
And if you want to know the translation of the complete song, here you have it.

If you practice choreography (alone or with your father, your mother, your brothers or sisters...) and you want to record it on video, go ahead! We know that many are embarrassed to dance, but don't worry, it is a voluntary activity.

Come on, cheer up! Wear comfortable clothes and dance!
Resumen tareas: «Today, just dance!» (29-5-20) (actividad voluntaria)
Animo!

Colours and feelings

We have found this wonderful story that you will surely like. It is based on the book The Color Monster, by Anna Llenas. It tells us about a monster that is feeling bad and confused because it has a great hubbub of colors. That's because he also has a lot of confusion of feelings. We can help him by ordering his colours so he learns to recognize his feelings.
yellow = happiness (felicidad)
blue = sadness (tristeza)
red = anger (enfado)
black = fear (temor)
green = calm (calma)
After putting each feeling in a diferent jar, we can look them more closely.
Happiness shines yellow like the sun. (La felicidad brilla amarilla como el sol)
Sadness is gentle like a blue rainy day.
Anger blazes red like fire. (El enfado arde como el fuego rojo)
Fear is black like the night. (El temor es negro como la noche)
Calm is quiet like the trees. (La calma es tranquila como los árboles)
Watch and read the story carefully several times. It doesn't matter that you don't understand all the words. Anyway, you can check the ones you want in this online dictionary.

Finally, to practice the vocabulary of colours and feelings, do these activities: here, here and here.
Resumen tareas «Colours and feelings» (28-5-20)

And now some online activities. If you click here you will find some easy ones. And if you click here, others a little harder, but not too much.

You can also draw animals and point out in them all the parts of the body we learned.

And remember that at the bottom you have a space to send us comments or questions.

Special days

Hello everyone! These special days we can use FOGAR NEWS to practice English from home. All third year students will find different resources and activities here on the blog. They will relate to the previous units and also to the new unit 5 we have just started.

Remember that on the right you have the labels, in alphabetical order. Review them and choose what you want: songs, animals, colors, numbers, stories...

If you visit this Oxford Explorers site or click on the images, you will find games, songs, stories and picture dictionaries that accompany your Class Book units from 1st to 3rd grade. In this way, you can practise at home the grammar, vocabulary and songs also studied at school. But it’s an old resource and you need Adobe Flash Player!

You can also visit the Online Learning Zone. Games, activities and resources in English of different Oxford projects for students.

That is all for today. We will have more proposals soon!
